Lessons On Can’t Miss Headlines from a Cab in NYC

11 August, 2008

advertising, Language, writing

When you’re in a cab streaking down 42nd Street in NYC and you’re a copywriter in from the West Coast–you can get a lightning fast lesson in balls-to-the-walls ad headlines like this one “Suck on this” for some kind of alchoholic beverage and it passed so quickly on a the side of a bus that this is the only thing I saw, and a bottle.

“Bleepin’ Thing,” the headline for Boost Mobile (also bus-side) also effectively tricked my eye to attention.

When you only have a New York minute to grab a consumer, the best ads go for the juglar.
